Last month During the devastating floods in Queensland and northern NSW, a callout was made on a community Facebook page where a neighbour’s cow had become stuck in the mud after a flood event in the Currumbin Valley.
One of our long-serving crane operators Adam answered the call!
Adam finished his day in Brisbane City before returning to the Preston hire yard in Underwood, picking up a Supercrane™ 405 and making his way out of the city to help.
Upon arrival, Adam was able to lift Rosie the cow out of the mud and onto all 4’s where she spent the next few hours regaining feeling in her legs. Eventually Rosie the cow was lifted up and out of the mud onto dry-ish land where she was left to regain her strength.
So many communities have been experiencing exceptionally tough times recently, so it makes us incredibly proud to see one of our staff receiving thanks for their assistance within the community.
Well done Adam!
Donna, The neighbour who contacted us, had plenty of good things to say about our man Adam and the Preston Hire Queensland team 💪
“A huge shout out to Adam Minarik from PRESTON HIRE Underwood who generously gave up his time to offer help with Rosie the 🐄
Adam was not about the $ he could charge. He was about good old fashioned ‘helping people in need’.
We managed to get Rosie up tonight on all 4’s, with Adams crane. She had a good 1/2 hour standing on all 4 legs (supported under her belly) to try and get some feeling back in her legs. She loved all the massages, cuddles and pats and didn’t complain once. Of course, she is lame on the leg that has been stuck under her for days, but she is now laying on her good side, so hopefully, she will start getting the strength to move her other legs around. She is happy, healthy, eating and comfortable at last. Thanks to Graeme for coming and helping out again. We couldn’t have done it without you. You were amazing 🙏
To everyone that has sent through all the lovely messages of hope, they have all been passed onto Faye (who doesn’t have Facebook haha)” – Donna
All’s well that ends well…
