How did a SuperCrane save this site thousands?
A residential project in Hunter’s Hill NSW presented a number of building challenges due to the restricted access of the site, the extreme care needed towards neighbouring properties and budget considerations. Preston Hire were approached by Platinum Building to find a solution that answered all of the following concerns:
- Not limiting access to the site by blocking the driveway
- Providing an alternative to a tower crane due to neighbour’s concerns of goods being lifted over existing houses
- Utilising a maximum crane set up space of 4500mm x 4500mm
- Keeping within budgets whilst delivering longterm efficiencies.
The Preston Hire SuperCrane 1385 is one of our Maeda models within our Hydraulic Crawler Crane fleet. With a lifting capacity of 6 tonnes, no outrigger requirements and minimal tail swing, The SuperCrane 1385 has a working radius highly suitable to this method of construction. The crawler crane remained on site following detailed training provided by our Crane experts which allowed qualified personnel employed by the builder to operate, load and unload materials. This represented a significant cost saving through not needing to outsource labour for the duration of the build.
Additionally, our SuperCrane 613 also made three star appearances on site when larger lifts were too heavy for the 1385. The 613 has a lifting capacity of 16 tonnes and was provided at site when required. What a duo!
